A trusted advisor to top executives, multinational corporations world-wide, he is trained in Japanese business, corporate strategy and Asian management systems from Copenhagen Business School, Harvard Business School and INSEAD.

Martin speaks fluently Japanese and his work with Nigel Holden on cross-cultural management has cited by prominent business leaders and professors on the "Top 50 Business School Professors in the World". Their first joint book, ’Creating knowledge advantage" was published in 2010 and has received wide international praise.

Academic advisor, Nigel Holden, has been a professor in the UK, Denmark and Germany and has more than 30 years’ experience of investigating how firms worldwide understand and apply cross- cultural management knowledge.

Nigel has published case studies of many prominent Japanese companies including Denso Corporation, Panasonic, Nissan, NEC and Yamanouchi Pharmaceuticals.

His academic output is four books, 25 book chapters and over 150 academic articles, conference papers and research reports. He is senior consultant to the authoritative Routledge Companion to Cross-Cultural Management.

His books on management and culture have been hailed as ‘seminal’, ‘outstanding’, and ‘a milestone in the development of cross-cultural management’. He has given more than 70 keynote addresses to academic gatherings and practitioner audiences world-wide.

Marehiko Yamada

Partner and director of Japan office

Partner and director of the Japan office, Marehiko Yamada, has more than 25 years experience as a successful business entrepreneur in Japan.

He is the founder of several successful start-up companies in Japan.

Marehiko’s background is in corporate finance, investment and private banking, where he specialized in services to UHNWI. The services included wealth management, estate planning, tax advice, investment portfolio management and mergers/acquisitions.


Nigel Holden and Martin Glisby’s work on cross-cultural management and Japanese business has been published in several internationally renowned business journals.
